SA Busy Kids

My husband told me for years I needed to get a hobby.  I finally listened. The result: SA Busy Kids.

The idea for SA Busy Kids began about five years ago when I saw a catalog of summer camps in a Houston museum shop. I bought the book and brought it back to San Antonio, safely packing it away in a wicker basket in my living room. I couldn’t stop thinking: wouldn’t it be neat to have a consolidated resource like that for camps and activities in San Antonio?

In 2009, I started writing. About my kids experiences with camps. My own experiences in searching for camps.  And most importantly, about the camps themselves. And suddenly, other moms and dads started added their comments for the benefit of all.

So far, it seems to be going well. In 2010, SABusyKids.com was named in the top three mommy blogs in San Antonio by News 4 WOAI, and it was included in San Antonio Magazine’s 2011 Insiders Guide to San Antonio.

The goal is to one day complete that comprehensive guide for San Antonio parents.  And not just camps, but all the glorious activities available for families. I may be too old to see the keyboard by then…but dreams are good to hold on to.
